June Updates

Hola Legionnaires.  I want to congratulate all of the Officers elected and appointed for the 2026-2027 year.  Some are returning, others are new.  In either case, I look forward to serving with them as I continue as Post Commander.  I also want to thank those officers who concluded their service and their commitment to The American Legion and to Post 161.  New officers will assume their duties in July after the State Officers are installed.

Check out our updated website: www.Post161.org.  We added a Commander’s Corner webpage and an Auxiliary webpage.  We’ll continue to build the website and eventually transition our newsletter presence to an online information source by the end of the year.  Notification updates will be sent out to the membership when updates are made with links to added or changed information.

We need volunteers to help with Flag retirements on Sun 14 Jun and VFW 2995 needs participants for the yard cleanup on Sat 27 Jun.  In July, participate with us in Kirkland’s 4th of July parade as we lead the procession through the city.
